Margaret is family oriented and owner of Workman Home Repairs, Inc - a business she describes as a woman owned business in a male dominated industry.

“How you do anything is how you do everything!” my Margaret-ism of the day.
Those are some of the most powerful words you will ever hear and so very true. I use them every day with my clients, vendors and my family. We need to practice ethics and use integrity in dealing with our clients, customers and family. We are all a work in progress. If you think you know it all, I can assure you that you don’t. I am on the front lines of a male dominated industry and I know there are strengths and weaknesses to being a woman in a “Man’s World! I am not a typical modern day feminist! In fact I do not consider myself a feminist at all, I don’t believe in Entitlement or Supremacy in any gender male or female. I love it when a man opens the door for me; I love it when a man stands up to allow me to have a seat! That kind of behavior is a welcome sight for this 43 year old woman. However it is becoming a lost cause on some of the younger generation. Scott and I have taught our 15 year old Son and our 18 year old daughter that being a lady and gentleman is the only way to be. WHIPLASH: WHY DO OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO HAVE SO MANY DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS? by
I am seriously getting whiplash from the amount of requirements and pricing differences among the clients in our industry. We understand every company has a right to do things their way. Our Industry is like no other. Continue Reading

SO WHY DO I FEEL LIKE I AM SUFFOCATING? by Margaret Workman
[Editor’s Note: I see a refreshing change in the landscape of Property Preservation commentary with the introduction of Margaret Workman to the audience of CubicYard™. Depending on the year, past statistics have shown that the percentage of property preservation businesses owned by women has varied between 48% and 61%. There are many women in the industry and most stay silently busy in the background, often unrecognized and under-appreciated. CubicYard™ is happy to say that this woman, Margaret Workman, has agreed to share her knowledge and experience with us – not surprising at all that she “stepped up to the plate” as she is an avid sports enthusiast and photographer.]
Why do some get away with not following the rules while others follow the rules and are treated worse by the Companies for the very rules they are trying to follow? Continue Reading
